About Tim McKay |

Tim McKay is an innovative producer
of television and film. He began his career as a photographer,
writer, director, and producer after earning his degree from the
prestigious School of Journalism at the University of Missouri in
Columbia. From 1979 to 1984, Tim served as media coordinator for the North Carolina Governor's Office of Citizen Affairs. In 1984, Tim McKay started freelancing in media services, including television, radio, direct mail, still photography, and media placement. His clients included political campaigns and consultants, non-profits, and businesses.In 1993, Tim was hired by Mount Snow Resort in Vermont to direct media and public relations. While there, he developed the first websites for the resort and the parent company, American Skiing Company. He developed a successful summer marketing program and coordinated the celebration of the resort’s 40th Anniversary. Tim’s first large-scale film project as executive producer, Tales from the Mountain, won Best in Show at the 1995 Crested Butte Film Festival. Building on his successful experience with Mount Snow, Tim started MountainTop Communications in 1995, which he ran until 2001. The company provided advertising and public relations consulting services to a wide variety of clients, primarily in the tourist industry and arts community. In late 2001, Tim returned to North Carolina and started Tim McKay Consulting, specializing in media services for advertising, marketing and public relations.
